Selected as Team Mentor for Team Saskatchewan

Mike actively participates in his own vintage MGB and fills in as crew chief, team manager, spokesman, or transport driver wherever the need arises.

Mike started in grassroots Saskatchewan autosport in the 70’s, autoslalom, autocross, hillclimbs, ice races & rallies – lots of trophies and a variety of cars (All gone). In his prime, Mike vigorously campaigned the prairies in Formula 1600 up until 1991, and was at the first ever race at Calgary Race City Motorsport Park in 1986 and won the 1987 Prairie Region Formula 1600 Championship. Experience turned Mike to crew for a Regina based Formula Ford 1600 team in 1991 and 1992, where he assembled two new RAY Formula Fords for Greg Moore. Mike also taught Saskatchewan young drivers advanced driving techniques with the Labatt Road Scholarship and was tutored by a Canadian driving expert, Gary Magwood.

The highlight of Mike’s long career has just recently occurred with the completion and race campaign in the Vintage grids with a truly historically significant race car that was meticulously restored to the original condition. The ex-Al Pease MGB is well known across the country by the motor sport community. The car was reunited with racing icon, Al Pease, for another race lap after 40 years at the 40th Anniversary of Formula 1 racing in Canada, at Mosport, Ontario. Mike managed a very respectable 5th in class at this huge event in the MG feature race.
