![]() Jim's motorsports career started as soon as he could see over the dash of a farm truck. He has been a member of the Saskatoon Sports Car Club for 25 years. Jim started running solo events as soon as he joined, ice racing was his first taste of wheel to wheel racing. Over the last 4 years he has competed in the sport compact mini-stock oval series in Saskatoon as well as being elected to the board of the Saskatoon Stock Car Racing Association. Jim was essential in the updating of rules to allow modern cars, which has helped to bring mini-stock to its current success. Road racing is Jim's first love, but the miles involved due to living in Saskatoon have limited his participation. This year Jim has competed at Race City in Calgary and Gimli, Manitoba. Jim also builds roll cages for many cars raced locally and in TeamSask. Jim has had a variety of cars over his motorsports career. Recent cars include a 1996 Plymouth Neon mini-stock oval race/ice race car, a 1995 Dodge Neon WCMA IT2 road race car, and a 1982 Camaro street/solo/drag/hillclimb car. A few of his memorable past cars are: Various Datsun 510 solo/street cars, and a 1980 Datsun 200SX oval race/ice race car.
Jim has quite a number of awards and accomplishments, a few are highlighted here. Jim's skill related to motorsports goes far beyond driving a race car, he also builds many of the safety roll cages that are installed in the Saskatoon ice racing cars. In 2006, Jim attended the Winnipeg sports car club High Performance Driving Experience to qualify for his WCMA road race license.
Jim spent 2006 racing his mini-stock Neon and building his road race Neon.
Jim was involved in the 2007 SADA (Saskatchewan Association of Automobile Dealers) Autoshow A charity autocross raised
$1200 for Camp Easter Seals, drivers gave ride-alongs for $3 donation, every person attending the show(30,000+) spectated

Jim road races a 1995 Dodge Neon in the IT2 class of WCMA. It features a stripped interior, full roll cage, racing seat and harness, along with uprated suspension components to help with the corners.
